Description
Job Title: Instructional Designer/Developer Employer: RCP Inc. Job Duties: (1) Work with subject matter experts to extract technical content into various learning management platforms.; (2) Assess training needs through interaction with subject matter experts, customer representatives, instructors, and others.; (3) Obtain information to develop and modify materials from relevant sources.; (4) Develop technical training content for in-person and virtual classroom settings using a variety of commercially available software systems.; (5) Record and edit technical training content for virtual classroom settings, instructional videos, and related promotional or trailer content.; (6) Revalidate technical training content as new or modified regulations, processes or methods take place.; (7) Work with various internal and external subject matter experts to develop written standards and procedures for oil and gas clients.; (8) Obtain, organize, or develop procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials, for training and other needs.; (9) Review and update draft materials for quality, format, flow, consistency, and grammar.; (10) Manage versions of work product through various platforms, including Local Area Networks, SharePoint, and other document management applications.; (11) Interact and effectively communicate within all levels of the company and client personnel.; (12) Facilitate meetings with clients, subject matter experts, instructors, and others.; (13) Maintain high quality technical writing standards within the company.; (14) Produce comprehensive reports in a clear and understandable fashion; (15) Read and follow complex written instructions. Requirements: (1) Expert level word processing skills, which should be reflected in applicant's resume. Resumes with formatting errors will not be considered.; (2) Intermediate or higher level of expertise with other common business communication platforms, including: (i) PowerPoint; (ii) Word; (iii) Adobe Acrobat; (iv) Excel; (v) Publisher; (3) Experience with other common business platforms, including: (i) Outlook; (ii) Visio; (4) Minimum work experience in oil and gas industry: 3 years ; (5) Minimum work experience in training development or instructional design: 3 years; (6) Minimum work experience in a discipline requiring attention to detail in writing and editing written materials, such as training development, instructional design, technical writing, or editor: 6 years; (7) Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline from a U.S. college or university or foreign equivalent of such degree; (8) Excellent command of written and spoken English, including knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar, which should be reflected in applicant's application materials (e.g., resume, cover letter). (9) Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects. (10) Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. (11) Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods, such as photograph, videography, or video editing. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media. Applicant must have at least two years of professional experience with photography, videography, or video editing. Compensation: $45/hour + normal corporate benefits (employer subsidized health/dental insurance, employer contributions for retirement plan, paid holidays/PTO).
