We are looking for an extraordinary Front-of-House/Dining Room Manager who is hands-on, full of positive energy, experienced and ready to make his or her mark on Oceana Restaurant and Bistro - the most iconic restaurant on St. Thomas!
As our FOH Manager, your mentorship and leadership to the team is fundamental to our success. That, coupled with your passion for unrivaled customer service and attention to detail is precisely what we need!
Your primary responsibility is to lead, manage and oversee daily functional “FOH” operations, including:
• Lead (by example) our front-of-house team in providing a consistently outstanding guest experience
• Ensure the highest standards are strived for by the FOH team (Bar, Servers, Server Assistants, Host/ess)
• Manage daily financial responsibilities
• Partner with Owner, Chef and Operations to continuously foster our positive company culture
• Respond professionally, efficiently, and gracefully to all customer complaints
Additional Responsibilities:
• Train, mentor and lead a consistently high-performance team focused on delivering superior customer service
• Organize and supervise front-of-house shifts and schedules
• Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
• Regularly track FOH inventory and coordinate with the Ordering process
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations – cleanliness is a must!
• Personally uphold our good image, brand (and suggest ways to improve it)
• Control FOH costs and identify measures to alleviate waste
• Ensure the entire team stays informed of all relevant restaurant initiatives
Qualified candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years proven hands-on working experience as a Dining Room and/or Restaurant Manager:
• Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
• Strong work ethic and passion for the restaurant business - attention to detail
• Hands-on experience with restaurant POS and reservations software
• Insightful restaurant financial management skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
