ABOUT HAMMER & HAND
Established in 1995, Hammer & Hand is a general contractor celebrating 27 years in partnership with clients and architects in the Pacific Northwest. Our reputation is built on over two and a half decades of dedication from individuals who are as passionate about their jobs as they are about their lives outside of work.

Based in Portland and Seattle, our firm serves clients by empowering employees, harnessing 21st century building science, and advancing the tradition of craftsmanship. From classic remodels to design-forward commercial build-outs and high performance passive buildings, Hammer & Hand’s projects are crafted with care and built to last.

In anonymous surveys, our staff reports great work-life balance, as well as a high degree of enjoyment and pride in their work. We are always looking for the best talent to join our team and are aware that a great candidate for a job may come from a less traditional background. Studies have shown that women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of color are less likely to apply for a job when they believe they may not meet all of the qualifications in a job description. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you’re not sure you meet every one of our qualifications. If you are unsure, you can contact us through our website with questions about how this would be determined. We do occasionally have Apprentice Carpenter openings for those looking to hone their craft and build their skillset. These are paid positions. Please do not hesitate to apply if you feel you have the aptitude to succeed with us! See more about our employment philosophy here: http://hammerandhand.com/about/employment/

Hammer & Hand is committed to equal opportunity in employment and does not discriminate based on race, color, creed, religion, sex, age, national origin, mental/physical disability, sexual orientation, gender identity/transgender status, military/veteran status, genetic information, or any other status/characteristic protected under applicable law.
