VESSEL IS CURRENTLY IN SEATTLE AND WILL DEPART FROM SEATTLE APPROX THURS, MAY 18TH TO THE FISHING GROUNDS
F/V Baranof is a fishing vessel that fishes and processes and is seeking PROCESSORS immediately, no experience necessary. Pot caught Black Cod and Longline Pacific Cod. The Baranof also fishes for King Crab and Opilio when fishery is open.
Process positions open onboard Fishing Vessel Baranof, you must be able to get to Seattle approx. May 17th this is an estimate. You must be able to GET TO SEATTLE AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE.

ABOUT THE M/V BARANOF
The Baranof is a 183ft old Coast Guard Buoy Tender from the '40s, and the crew size is approx. 20-26 depending on the fishery and including the cook and officers. The Baranof converted years ago to a Longline Catcher Processor that fishes Pacific Cod, Black Cod (Sablefish), and Crab.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Understand and follow instructions, directions, safety rules, and procedures in English.
Board and exit the vessel by gangplank or Jacob’s ladder without assistance.
Board or exit a skiff without assistance in all weather conditions.
Ascend and descend steep stairways and ladders in all temperatures.
Work at least 16 hours per day, seven days per week for the duration of the contract.
Perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Work long hours in all kinds of weather.
Lift and carry weight more than 50 pounds repeatedly.
Work in a cold and wet environment.
Don life jacket, life vest, and survival suit without assistance.
Live and work with others in close quarters.
Be away from medical care and supervision for 3+ months at a time.
Share crew quarters, bathroom facilities, and common dining areas with other crew members.
Must be able to pass pre-employment and random DOT drug tests per USCG regulations.
AIRFARE TO THE VESSEL:
Your point of hire is Seattle or Anchorage; you will need to get there at your own expense. Your airfare from Seattle will be arranged by us and advanced to you. You will need to complete three consecutive trips on the vessel. Each trip is estimated at around 3-5 weeks, if you choose to depart the vessel prior to completing the 3 trips you will be responsible to reimburse us for your airfare.
M/V Baranof is currently in Seattle for shipyard, this happens one time a year, the crew will be departing from Seattle and will take the boat to Alaska to start the trip.
CONTRACT DURATION:
The contract is for 3 trips which is estimated at three months (not an exact timeline). The vessel comes into Dutch Harbor after each trip to offload and resupply, each trip is approx. 3-4 weeks, depending on many factors.
COMPENSATION:
Pay is based on crew share (percentage of the catch) and is based on the actual sales price of the product produced on your trip(s). We cannot provide an estimate of what you could make. There are too many variables.
DRUG-FREE:
The Baranof is a Drug-Free Vessel. You cannot have any drugs on the DOT list in your system when you are on board the vessel.
